SKOLA Summer Jobs 2025

We commit to keeping our students and staff safe. We follow safer recruitment procedures. This includes pre-appointment checks: references, an enhanced DBS, an overseas police check, and a qualification check.

 

All staff must maintain a safe, welcoming environment. This means following our behaviour management approach and reporting any concerns about adult or student behaviour to the safeguarding lead. For example, sexual harassment or low-level concerns about adult behaviour.

You must be motivated to teach English through a weekly, project-based curriculum. The curriculum includes classroom lessons, trips, and a Friday presentation to showcase the learning.

 

We are a learning organisation so you should have an interest in developing and growing as a professional. For example, every teacher will have at least one observation per week, with feedback, to support their growth. We also collect and act on feedback from our staff and students.

Our summer school runs for 11 weeks (16/06/25 - 30/08/25), Monday to Friday. The Saturday trip is optional. 

 

We have a comprehensive induction process. So you will be ready to teach on your first Monday:

  1. An online induction on the 31st of May 2025; this will cover topics such as how to access your SKOLA Gmail

  2. Online onboarding and continuous professional development via Google Classroom

  3. Two full-day (in-person) induction at Regents University (SKOLA Regents Park). This will cover welfare, how to use positive behaviour management and effective teaching. The 13th & 14th of June 2025.

  4. A half-day brief on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday before your start day, if you start after June 16, 2025. ​

Note: We do not use a traditional textbook. We design and use curricula focused on project-based learning and critical thinking.

There is a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This includes 15 hours of English lessons in the morning, the leadership course, the Friday presentation, afternoon trips, teacher admin, lesson planning, and continuous professional development.
